Déjà Vu: Scott Brown makes hole-in-one at same tournament, on same hole, in same round in consecutive years

August 22, 2016

In the words of Yogi Berra, Scott Brown's Wyndham Championship was déjà vu all over again.

The 33-year-old Brown made waves at last year's Greensboro event after recording an ace at Sedgefield Country Club's third hole. On Sunday, the 33-year-old made ANOTHER hole-in-one during the Wyndham Championship. On the same hole. In the same round.

Although it wasn't quite identical circumstances: Brown made last year's eagle in one of the tournament's final groups, paired with Tiger Woods, while Sunday's "1" came alongside Boo Weekley in the morning wave.

"It was about 25,000 less people there this year,” Brown told reporters afterwards. “Boo said that’s the first time he ever put a 1 on the card, too. Same thing Tiger said to me last year."

Brown is no stranger to aces. He's now made five in the past three years.

“Last year opposite wind, one club less. Today it was a 7-iron and it was pretty much identical,” Brown remarked. “It almost landed pretty much in the identical spot, like a foot short of the hole and I guess, I can’t see it from down there, but I’m guessing it just hopped in.”
