At this week’s Wyndham Championship, the PGA Tour’s regular-season finale, the focus for players wasn't about the money that was on the line but rather the points. FedEx Cup points. As the last of 36 tournaments on the 2024 schedule, it was the final chance for tour pros to work their way inside the top 70 on the FedEx Cup points list and qualify for the PGA Tour’s postseason.

Making the already pressure-packed week even more chaotic was the horrible weather that hit Sedgefield Country Club in Greenboro, N.C., early in the week. The remnants of Tropical Storm Debby dumped several inches of rain late Wednesday and Thursday, forcing tour officials to delay the start of the first round Friday morning. That forced tour officials to squeeze 72 holes of golf into three days of play.

Essentially they got the job done, Aaron Rai winning the title in the gloaming on Sunday. (Matt Kuchar, in the final pairing, decided to come back on Monday morning to finish his round, but he has no chance of passing Rai.) And, interestingly, no one managed to move inside the top 70, Victor Perez holding on to the last spot that he held on Thursday.

Yet, while all eyes will be on the FedEx Cup points list, there was a nice little payday awaiting the field. The prize money payout at the Wyndham was $7.9 million, with Rai earning $1.422 million for his victory.

Here’s a break down of the prize money payout for each golfer.

Opened in 1926, Sedgefield Country Club is a Donald Ross design that has been the longtime host of the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship. The course co-hosted the inaugural Greater Greensboro Open (today’s Wyndham) in 1938, won by Sam Snead. The tournament has been played at several courses over the years, and Sedgefield has hosted since 2008. In 2007, the course underwent a $3 million restoration project aimed at transforming the layout back to Ross’ original intent. In typical Ross style, the greens are quite busy, with prominent slopes demanding the player stay below the hole.
