Alex Trebek hilariously roasts Jeopardy! contestants for their lack of football knowledge
Alex Trebek recently returned to taping episodes of Jeopardy! after brain surgery forced a brief hiatus. We're glad to see he's already back in fine form.
On Wednesday night's show, Trebek hilariously roasted contestants for their lack of pigskin knowledge when they, um, punted on an entire column of clues called "Talkin' Football." And yes, that pun was intended. Not that these three contestants would have any idea what a punt is.
Anyway, watch as all five clues go unanswered and Trebek keeps cracking one-liners. It's gameshow gold.
It didn't take long for Trebek to realize where this was going when after no one buzzed in on the second clue. "Do you think we should take a commercial break?" BURN! Although, they really should have in order to squeeze in another commercial.
Trebek also demonstrated what a "fair catch" is:
And he delivered this dagger before the final clue.
"Let's look at the $1,000 clue, just for the fun of it."
