A man was fined for urinating on the first tee and some golf trolleys at a UK golf club.

Gary Ellis, 38, admitted in court on Monday that he used threatening or abusive words or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, according to leaderlive.co.uk. The incident took place at Wrexham Golf Club on Feb. 12.

That's when CCTV footage captured Ellis urinating on the first tee near the pro shop and on golf carts—AKA trolleys in British vernacular—in front of course staff and a junior member of the club.

"Mr Ellis is extremely embarrassed by his behaviour," said his defense lawyer, Lorraine McClure. "I have watched the CCTV and I am not sure it was over the golf trolleys - but he appreciates he urinated against a post and it would have upset some people."

Ellis was ordered to pay a fine of 333 pounds in addition to 133 pounds as a victim surcharge and another 85 pounds in costs. That's a total of 551 pounds, which is equal to a little over $700.

Following the ruling, Ellis said, "I am sorry." The moral of the story? It's always better to hold it until you find a bathroom. Or, loo, in this case.
