British Open 2023: PGA Tour wife saves golfer's Open debut by finding his clubs at the airport

July 19, 2023

Despite a couple close calls in trying to win his first PGA Tour title, it's been a fantastic season for Adam Schenk. Which is evidenced by the fact that the 31-year-old will be playing in his first Open Championship this week. But first, he had a close call of a different kind.

Schenk fell victim to a common golfer's nightmare when his clubs weren't there upon landing in the UK. His wife tweeted as much, along with an adorable pic of their baby:

Aww, what a good boy. But back to the main issue. Adam needed his clubs. Badly. And he was running out of time before his Thursday tee time. And, yes, as Kourtney told a bunch of people on Twitter he has his clubs air tagged, but there's nothing you can do when the clubs are not anywhere near you.

Fortunately, another PGA Tour wife, Malory Conners, would come to his rescue. Phew.

That's what friends are for! And wives of friends! No big deal, just one of the best golfers on the planet's clubs laying on the middle of an airport floor unattended. Pretty wild.

This reminds me of the time I alerted Bo Van Pelt that I had spotted his clubs at the Manchester Airport. True story. He was very pleased. Although, not as pleased I couldn't bring them to his rental home. Hey, I would have loved to do it, but the cars—and roads—are smaller over there. And he wound up tracking them down.

Anyway, another potential travel disaster averted. Adam Schenk has his clubs for his Open debut, and Corey Conners has come good karma coming to him.
