Cameron Young just pulled off the gutsiest shot of the week at the 152nd British Open at Royal Troon. And it came from one foot off the green at the postage stamp par-3 eighth.

That feels wrong to say after watching Friday afternoon's carnage-fest, which featured a front-nine 45 from Justin Thomas and consecutive 9s from Aguri Iwasaki. Surely, there were harder shots to pull off in those impossibly-tough conditions than this short chip from Young.

Well, you judge for yourself. Here's Young just left of the eighth green on Saturday, with his feet hanging directly on the edge of the coffin bunker and a green sloping from left-to-right, forcing him to take on an aggressive line:

F-i-l-t-h-y FILTHY. That ball was one weird kick from making a hard left turn into the coffin bunker and bringing double bogey or worse into play. Instead, Young saved his par, keeping his round at three under through eight and one over for the tournament.

Unfortunately, Young did bogey the next hole, but he still went out in 34 to make a small jump up the leader board. He's currently in a tie for 29th, nine shots back of Shane Lowry.
