Already grieving the recent death of a caddie, the PGA Tour Latinoamerica suffered another tragedy on Thursday when a caddie collapsed on the course and died at a hospital in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

The tour issued a statement on Friday reporting that caddie Alberto Olguin, of Mexico City, collapsed on the ninth tee box as his player, Venezuelan Manuel Torres, played his final hole in the first round on Thursday of the Dev Series Final. According to the release, “emergency personnel arrived at the course, performed CPR on Olguin and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he died.” Olguin collapsed at approximately 4 p.m. ET and was pronounced dead at 4:57 p.m.

The tour said it would honor Olguin later this week.

In June, Colombian caddie Jose Edgar Preciado suffered a fatal heart attack at his hotel after the second round of the Latinoamerica’s Holcim Colombia Classic.

Manuel Torres, who played college golf at Lynn Unversity in Boca Raton, Fla., has continued to compete in the Dev Series Final. He finished with a 72 in the first round and shot three-under-par 69 on Friday to be tied for 14th place.
