Justin Thomas isn't playing in either made-for-TV charity golf events this month, but one of the game's best and brightest stars will still play an important role in the coverage of one of them.

Turner Sports announced Thomas as part of an All-Star announcing crew for The Match: Champions for Charity. The former World No. 1 will be the on-course reporter for the match pitting Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady on May 24 at Medalist Golf Club.

The extroverted Thomas, a member at Medalist and good friends with Woods, Mickelson, and Brady seems like a great fit for the role of walking and talking along the star-studded foursome. And he'll be joined in TNT's coverage by the network's biggest star, Charles Barkley.

The NBA Hall-of-Famer and outspoken basketball analyst was also a part of The Match between Tiger and Phil in 2018, but only in the pregame show. This time, Barkley will provide color commentary with 2008 Masters Champion and CBS Sports member Trevor Immelman. Brian Anderson will provide play-by-play and CBS' Amanda Balionis will join JT as an on-course reporter.

The Match will be simulcast on TNT, TBS, truTV and HLN at 3 p.m. ET. It will follow this Sunday's TaylorMade Driving Relief event that features Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson taking on Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff. Both events are raising money for COVID-19 relief efforts.

This was the second big news item on Thursday involving Thomas, who earlier in the day was revealed as the cover athlete for the new PGA Tour 2K21 video game.
