DP World Tour's 'Green Room' offers fascinating look into pro's psyche following second straight missed cut

The "Green Room" is not a new concept for DPWT's social squad, but it hits a little bit differently when they're able to get a player as emotionally vulnerable as England's Matt Wallace to enter it. The concept, for those wondering, is having players come in immediately following their rounds, sometimes bad rounds, to open up about what they are thinking and feeling. A therapy session, if you will.
The thing is, it's not a human asking them the questions or telling them to open up, it's a robot. Wallace came in on Friday following a two-over 72 at the Genesis Scottish Open, which saw him miss the cut by three shots. It's his second missed cut in a row on the PGA Tour. All it took was a simple "is it your first time here [in the Green Room]?" question from the robotic voice for Wallace to begin to convey exactly what he was thinking and feeling.
"Pretty gutted," Wallace said. "Trying to change my attitude towards the game a little bit by being a bit more positive about it... I just lack a load of self-confidence at the moment. Yeah, it's hard."

Wow. What's really shocking about this video is that while it is coming on the heels of consecutive MCs for the Englishman, he's not actually playing that poorly of late. Prior to his last two starts, he made five consecutive cuts with a T-4 and an extra pair of top-20 finishes along the way. Hardly a stretch to be this broken up over.
The thing is, Wallace cares very deeply, a trait he often shows on the course in good times and bad. We love to see that in a day in age where it's become all about the money.
