The issue was never in doubt. That might not make for the best of broadcasts, but it’s exactly what Matt Jones set out to do on Sunday.
The Aussie, entering the final round with a three-shot lead at the Honda Classic, stayed steady while the rest of the field went south at PGA National. Aaron Wise briefly flirted with the lead, but a four-putt by Wise put Jones in cruise control for the rest of the afternoon. The result was a five-shot win by Jones. It is his second career tour victory, his first coming at the 2014 Houston Open.
For his efforts Jones receives a whopping $1.26 million prize, and pushes him over $15 million in career earnings.
