New Dallas Maverick Klay Thompson should totally buy this golf ranch to be his new compound

The Right Mix Ranch in Joshua, Texas, has a nine-hole course and stocked pond.

Basketball star and noted golf enthusiast Klay Thompson just left the Golden State Warriors for a new contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Now that the four-time NBA champion (and part-owner of the TGL's San Francisco franchise) is in the market for a new home, perhaps he should consider this $5.85 million compound half an hour south of nearby Fort Worth.

The Right Mix Ranch in Joshua, Texas, features a nine-hole par-30 golf course on its 24-acre spread along with a main house and four high-end guest cabins that would be perfect for a visiting golf pro, physical therapist, social media manager or agent. The main home might be small by sports-hero standards at 1,750 square feet, but being able to shunt guests to their own buildings provides plenty of elbow room. Plus, the course uses a criss-cross pattern of two synthetic tees and six synthetic greens, leaving plenty of acreage to build a mega-mansion if required.

The course has two artificial turf tees and six greens and plays to a par of 30.

The entire property is irrigated by its own well, which feeds a large pond stocked with trophy bass and catfish. There's even a fully built-out RV pad and water storage tanks for when roaming relatives stop by on a cross-country jaunt.

The best part? Thompson paid close to the ranch's asking price in California state income tax on his $40 million salary from the Warriors last year alone. He won't pay anything to Texas during his new three-year, $50-million deal. There's a reason players like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed live in the Dallas metroplex, and it's not just the Filete Cantinflas at Javier's.
