Tom Brady hugging Drew Brees goodbye, then throwing a TD to Brees' son is FeelsTown, USA

January 18, 2021

Sunday's NFC Divisional matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints was billed as the potential final act of Tom Brady and Drew Brees' careers. What was very clear by game's end is that one of them still has at least a year or two of good football left in him, while the other is headed straight for the broadcast booth.

This became blatantly obvious after the game, when Brees and his family stayed on the Mercedes-Benz Superdome field well after the final whistle to soak it all in. As that was happening, Brady, who is headed to his 14th conference championship game, emerged from the locker room in street clothes to bid Brees adieu, barring the unlikely circumstance No. 9 returns for the final year of his contract. After going in for the bro hug, one of Brees' sons asked for Brady to toss him a pass in the end zone, and TB12 threw a dime. The video, which has eclipsed 8.4 million views in under 12 hours, is the capital of FeelsTown, USA:

Holy moly. It is, indeed, getting dusty in here. If we were being really mean, we'd say Brees couldn't have made that pass to his son, hence why Brady had to step in. But we won't say that, even though we just did.
