There were plenty of people who picked Scottie Scheffler to win the 2022 Masters. After all, he was arriving at Augusta National as the World No. 1 and on an absolute heater. Heck, one guy even bet on a Scheffler-Cam Smith exacta (ouch). But a Korn Ferry Tour volunteer takes top honors when it comes to Masters predictions this year—because his didn't even come this year.
The mystery man actually declared Scheffler would win a green jacket nearly three years ago after he claimed his first pro win at the 2019 Evans Scholar Invitational. Scheffler was only 22 and less than a year out of college, but this dude saw something special in the young player. And couldn't resist blurting out his prediction as Scheffler signed a cooler—a KFT winning tradition—following his win. Have a look and listen:
Boom. Nailed it. OK, who is this guy? Please track him down because he can see the future. And we'd like to know if he's spotted any other future major champs . . .
Anyway, a tip of the cap to you, sir. And whoever you are, hopefully, you made a few bucks off Scottie's win as well.
