The highly anticipated special release capsule designed by J.Lindeberg for Team USA golf is finally available to the public for purchase as the Summer Olympics continue. The collection, which includes performance pieces for men and women, as well as accessories like a stand bag, sneakers, belts, socks, headcovers, and compression sleeves, embraces Americana color ways (which happen to also nod to the host country’s flag) as well as sleek, European-style minimalism and tailoring in celebration of JL’s Swedish origins. The marriage of cultures continues in the motifs, which feature geometric zigzags reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower. The looks feature stark, geometric motifs in Americana red, white, and blue that will shine on camera and connote mastery and dynamism on the course (and if color psychology has anything to say about the relationship between bold patterns and performance, this could lead to greater confidence and gamesmanship for Team USA).
The J.Lindeberg designers also drew inspiration from France itself, not only taking into consideration the intense heat of Parisian summers when choosing from their lines of technical, UV-protecting, moisture-wicking stretch fabrics, but also in the patterns, where elements of the steely, poignant Eiffel Tower overlay the patriotic color palette.
