Poor Tania Elosegui

SUGAR GROVE, Ill.-- Imagine playing in your first Solheim Cup, on foreign soil, as the 189th-ranked player in the world and the only player from your country. That's what shy, soft-spoken Spaniard Tania Elosegui faced as she came to Sugar Grove this week. Then imagine getting paired against Christina Kim in Sunday's singles. Talk about being thrown to the wolves.

Kim seems to have gotten over the despair of her defeat in Saturday's foursomes, and is here to play. She's also here to play to the crowds. Their roars are her drug of choice, and she's getting plenty of it today.

Kim quickly birdied the second hole to go 1-up. Elosegui looks scared of her opponent. Sometimes, watching Kim's frantic eyes as she jumps, screams and hollers to the crowds, so am I.Â

This could be one match that ends on the 12th green.
