Red Sox Mookie Betts and Travis Shaw had some fun with a golf cart last weekend

Baseball players are known for missing time from some unusual injuries. Detroit Tigers pitcher Joel Zumaya hurt himself playing the video-game Guitar Hero, and Milton Bradley tearing his ACL while arguing with an umpire comes to mind.

From the looks of it, Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts is lucky to have escaped this golf-cart accident with just a wet cart and possibly damaged clubs.

First baseman Travis Shaw tweeted this photo from their round of golf on Sunday, with the golf cart submerged in water.

We wish we could've seen the moment before the cart entered the water. Did Betts have to pull an athletic move and jump out? Or was it a bit of funny business gone too far?

Betts denied that on Twitter afterward:

Golf-cart injuries are always funny when no one gets hurt. For the brass of the Red Sox, with spring training coming soon, I bet they agree.
