Patton Kizzire birdied the 18th hole on Sunday morning to finish the third round with a six-under par 66 that gave him the lead in the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif.

Kizzire, who is beginning his second season as a PGA Tour member, completed 54 holes in 15-under par 201, one shot ahead of 18- and 36-hole leader Scott Piercy and Johnson Wagner and two up on Paul Casey and Martin Laird.

Wagner, who held a one-stroke lead when third-round play was suspended by rain on Saturday evening, double-bogeyed the 17th hole and finished with a two-under par 70.

The third round had been suspended by rain on Saturday evening and was completed Sunday morning, with the final round to follow immediately.
