The clubs Sung Hyun Park used to win the Indy Women in Tech Championship

Andy Lyons

Sung Hyun Park probably should have ended things in regulation when she nearly drove the green on the 272-yard par-4 finishing hole at Brickyard Crossing Golf Course in Indianapolis. However, when she missed a very makable birdie putt for the win, she returned to the hole for a playoff against Lizette Salas and didn’t let opportunity go by again.

After another terrific tee shot with her TaylorMade M3 460 driver, albeit a controlled tee shot that went 50 yards shorter than her one in regulation, Park hit a sporty pitch to inside 10 feet and holed the ensuing putt for a winning birdie with her TaylorMade Spider Tour. The birdie added to 26 of them in regulation against one bogey and one double bogey, the result of strong iron play as she hit 62 of 72 greens in regulation.

Park uses TaylorMade’s P770 irons and Milled Grind wedges. The P770 irons are the same model that were in Park’s bag during her win at last year’s U.S. Women’s Open. Given her proficiency with the clubs, expect them to reside in the bag a while longer.

What Sung Hyun Park had in the bag at the Indy Women in Tech Championship:

Driver: TaylorMade M3 460, 9.5 degrees

3-wood: TaylorMade M4, 15 degrees

Hybrid: TaylorMade M3, 17 degrees

Irons (4): TaylorMade P790; (5-PW): TaylorMade P770

Wedges: TaylorMade Milled Grind (50, 54, 58 degrees)
