Two halves to No. 9

OAKMONT, Pa. --  Oakmont Country Club, a golf haven rich in history, carries with it a lot of oddities. One of them is the ninth green, which is half putting-green, half regulation-green (see image below). As Ron Sirak mentioned, blue stakes on either side of the large green separate the practice area from the ninth green. Sirak predicts that at least one woman who is practicing before her round will accidentally putt a ball from the ninth green back into the practice area. That violation means disqualification.
