Tiger Woods, as expected, officially has entered the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational next week at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, a course on which he has won the event seven times, including four of the last five. He is the defending champion.
Given his history in the event, the Bridgestone Invitational should be a reliable barometer of the state of his game in this his eighth tournament since returning to competition at the Masters in April.
Woods will also play the PGA Championship the following week.
