Wyndham Clark celebrates first major win by chugging out of U.S. Open trophy at Los Angeles watering hole

Very few honest golf fans had Wyndham Clark walking away from Los Angeles Country Club a major winner this time last week. In fact, you probably have to go all the way back to Gary Woodland at Pebble Beach in 2019 (a lifetime ago in so many ways) to find an even remotely comparable quantity to Clark, who entered last week’s U.S. Open ranked outside the top 30 in the world rankings. Needless to say, it was an incredible—and incredibly unexpected—run.

There’s no telling if or when Clark will find himself in contention at a major again, let alone in the winner’s circle, but he seems to be making the most of it, seen chugging victory suds from the U.S. trophy in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Clear eyes, hat backwards, can't lose. It looks like it’ll be a pretty rocky start to Clark’s week at the Travelers Championship, not that he or anyone else will care. He could finish DFL and still walk away with a smile on his face. He’s a U.S. Open champion now, and nothing can ever take that away from him … not even a nasty hangover.
